Music has gotten off to a great start this year with continued private lessons for; violin, cello, guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. New to this year is viola.

We are hoping to expand to Woodwinds (flute, clarinet, saxophone) in 2024.

We do our best to encourage all students to come in and rehearse during lunch and recess times when we can. To book a rehearsal time and space come to the Performing Arts Building, just inside the electronic doors.

Each year the Department of Education offers STEM scholarships for high school students under-represented in Science and Mathematics.

These provide significant monetary support for educational resources to students who wish to pursue STEM subjects like Engineering, Maths and Science in their Senior Years.

Students must complete a written application for this, detailing what their plans are after school and why they would be a good candidate. The applications are sent from all over the state and reviewed by the education department and a limited amount are given out. Two of our Year 11students, Muzhgan Haidari and Tamanna Mohebi, distinguished themselves and were selected to be awarded scholarships.

On February 10th, they were invited to attend an induction day at the University of Adelaide to learn about what the scholarship could offer, attend STEM based workshops and hear from keynote speakers currently working in different STEM fields. They also had the opportunity to take a tour of the Adelaide University campus to see the kinds of things that their future might hold.

Tamanna and Muzhgan were both a credit to the school and a great example to the other students who attended. We look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the future!
